The Full Story
About
Welcome to TheWildlifeFamily, where adventure meets the wild and chaos meets creativity! We’re a multicultural crew of four—dad (an IMAX filmmaker who thinks every sunrise deserves a time-lapse), mom Emil (our Mexican-German glue and cultural compass), and our two outdoor boys, Nanuk and Silvan - wildlings, who think “rest” is just a four-letter word.
Based in Alaska, we dive into epic outdoor adventures, from navigating caribou migrations to hanging out with coastal brown bears. Armed with cameras, tripods, drones, and a knack for starting sentences in English and finishing in German or Spanish, we explore nature’s untamed beauty.
Join us as we discover the outdoors, document wildlife, explore ecosystems, and teach our boys the art of storytelling through the lens. Expect survival hacks, breathtaking landscapes, a dash of bilingual chaos, and plenty of laughs. It’s like NatGeo met “The Family Robinson” at a multilingual campfire—and the results are WILD!
So why join us and our two boys? Not for lectures, but for the joy of discovery. Not for guilt, but for gratitude. Let’s celebrate the big, breathtaking landscapes and the delicate threads that sustain them. Let’s learn together, explore together, and maybe, just maybe, protect what we love—one adventure at a time.
Are you ready to roam free?

Nanuk
Hi, I’m Nanuk—13, trilingual, and raised in the wilds of Alaska. I love fixing things, upcycling junk into inventions (thanks, Oma!), and capturing wildlife with my camera—one of my grizzly shots even won an award! When I’m not dodging moose or baking bread, I’m playing piano or helping Dad set up camera traps. I hate waste, love pizza, and dream of flying bush planes and building a cabin in the wild. Adventure is my middle name—let’s go!
Silvan
Hi, I’m Silvan—10 years old and wild about nature! I paddle lakes in Alaska, search for crystals, and sneak around with my camera to film wildlife with my dad (he says I’m the youngest gimbal operator in town!). I love birds, sea creatures, gardening with my grandma, and asking big questions about the universe. I speak English, German, and Spanish, play wild piano tunes, and dream of becoming a bush pilot—or maybe a time traveler. Adventure’s calling—come join me!
